This policy describes the paid StudyRelay Chrome extension that connects a supported question page to your signed-in Gemini browser tab. It does not describe an independently operated hosted AI service or earlier development builds.

Information the extension handles

• Question and chat content: question text, answer choices, matching or ordering items, relevant answer feedback, generated prompts, and AI responses and explanations. StudyRelay uses this content to request, interpret, fill, and, depending on your settings, submit answers.
• Account and payment information: ExtensionPay provides your purchase email, access status, plan information, and relevant subscription dates/status. Stripe processes checkout and payment details. The extension does not collect raw card numbers or your Google password.
• Authentication and installation data: an ExtensionPay installation credential, installation timestamp and cached account state. A local installation identifier and any retained legacy connection token may also exist in browser storage.
• Supported-tab information: tab identifiers and matching site URLs are used to find the question page and Gemini tab and route a response to the right page. StudyRelay does not request Chrome's history permission or maintain a general browsing-history database.
• Preferences: sharing consent, connection settings, pause-before-submission and timing settings, and related automation preferences.

How content is used and shared

After you agree to question sharing and start assistance, StudyRelay sends the question and relevant choices or feedback into your signed-in Gemini conversation. Gemini generates a response. The extension reads that response and applies it to the supported question page. Automatic submission and progression may occur when pause-before-submission is disabled. You can stop the workflow.

The paid build sends questions through your Gemini browser tab, rather than to a StudyRelay AI backend. Google handles prompts and responses under your Gemini account settings and its policies. StudyRelay's payment integration does not send question or answer text to ExtensionPay or Stripe.

ExtensionPay verifies access and supports purchase restoration. Stripe handles checkout, billing and applicable payment records. These services necessarily receive network connection information when contacted and may process IP addresses, device/browser information and other information under their own policies. Their retention and account settings are separate from local extension storage.

Storage and retention

Preferences and consent are stored in Chrome extension storage. ExtensionPay's SDK caches its credential, installation timestamp and account information in Chrome sync storage, falling back to local storage when sync is unavailable. Sync may copy these values between browsers using the same Chrome account.

Pending question payloads and tab identifiers are temporarily held in session storage. They are cleared after completion or cancellation; an interrupted request may remain until replaced or the browser session ends. In-page working state is held while the page is active. Browser console diagnostics may contain question or answer information; avoid sharing unredacted diagnostic logs.

Persistent local/synced records remain until removed through browser controls, replaced by the extension or removed on uninstall as supported by Chrome. Removing the extension does not erase provider account data or Gemini conversations, and does not cancel a subscription. Google, ExtensionPay and Stripe retain their records according to their respective policies, account controls and applicable obligations; this page does not promise a provider deletion deadline.

Your choices

• Stop automation using the extension's Stop control.
• Turn off question-sharing consent to prevent new assistance requests. This does not recall content already sent.
• Enable pause-before-submission to review filled responses before submission.
• Manage your Gemini activity and conversations through Google's account controls.
• Use the extension's purchase restoration and subscription-management controls to manage paid access.
• Remove local extension data through Chrome's settings or uninstall the extension. Cancel billing separately.

Limited use

StudyRelay's handling of user data is limited to its disclosed question-assistance workflow, access management, billing and requested support. Data is not sold, used for targeted advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility. Transfers are limited to providing these features and other uses permitted by the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. No general keystroke logger, cross-site advertising tracker or analytics SDK was found in the reviewed extension package.

Security

Connections to Gemini, ExtensionPay and Stripe use HTTPS. The extension stores necessary credentials in browser extension storage; that storage should not be treated as a secret vault against someone with access to your browser profile or device. Protect your browser account and device. No system can guarantee absolute security.
